“I am honored to have the support of such a progressive leader who has paved the way for candidates like myself to have a fighting chance in taking on the political establishment! Councilmember CdeBaca’s leadership in Denver has been inspirational and she is unapologetic when fighting for the issues that impact everyday people in our community. I look forward to working with her in ensuring that Denver has the type of leadership that reflects the people,” Neal stated.

Neal is the son of immigrant parents who migrated to this country from India in pursuit of better opportunities for their children and their families. In his time at the University of Colorado-Boulder, Neal got involved in campus organizing as the President of the South Asian Student Association and was elected to serve in the university’s student government. He then got his first foot in the door of politics while interning for then Congressman Mark Udall’s office. Neal brought his passion for public service to Governor Hickenlooper’s office, working to end homelessness in Colorado and build bridges between our state government and the AAPI community. This work brought him to Washington with the National Governors Association, which opened his eyes to the underside of national politics. Neal is  running for Congress in Colorado’s 1st Congressional District because he wants to be a champion for our most vulnerable communities. Neal’s campaign was recently endorsed by the Working Families Party, Marianne Williamson, The Denver chapter of Progressive Democrats of America, and the Blue America PAC.
